Today, India has more startups than before and is on the cusp of transformation. Certain challenges are faced by them due to limited direction and access. With this competition we want to bridge the gap using IESA network and I invite the Indian entrepreneurs to take advantage of this opportunity. We are thankful to Startup India and other partners for their support to us.”
“India is anticipated to become one of the best markets for the adoption of energy storage technologies due to several drivers like the fastest growing economy, increasing share of renewables, transmission constraints, need for providing 24*7 quality power and electric mobility mission. IESA has set a mission to also make India a global hub for innovation and manufacturing of advanced energy storage, micro grids and EV technologies by 2020”, he further added.
Government of India has clearly decided to prioritize electric vehicles with a goal of having 100% Electric Vehicles (EVs) by 2030.Energy Storage is a key component of this and there are number of ways in which EV adoption could be transformative for the grid. With better tariff structures and use of right storage technologies in EVs, one could also use EVs as distributed storage and provide grid balancing services. This transformation will not only help in greening the transportation fleet by reducing diesel/petrol consumption and associated emissions, but will also help in greening the grid if EVs are used for better integration of renewable resources in grid. Many Indian automobiles companies have plans to adopt EV’s.

Problems related to sex can very well be handled with Yoga—scholars point out

NewsPatrolling.com (Media partnered with Confirmtkt.com/train-running-status/) - “Problems related to sex can very well be handled with Yoga”, four scholars at the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital in Karnataka (India) point out in a review article “Yogic Intervention in Sexual Dysfunction” published in Journal of Ayurveda and Integrated Medical Sciences.

It concluded: By regular practice of Yoga, Pranayama, Bandhas and Mudra the person will awaken the Kundalini Shakti in him which eases the flow of Prana Vayu all over the body resulting in good physical and mental stability by which most of the sexual dysfunctions get reduced.

This review indicates: In the domain of sexual response, Yoga has also been touted as a method for...enhancing erectile capacity, extending the longevity of intercourse and fundamentally, of enhancing sexual pleasure.

The scholars in this review describe sexual dysfunction or sexual malfunction as: the difficulty experienced by an individual or couple during any stages of normal sexual activity, which includes physical pleasure, desire, arousal and orgasm; and adds that causes can be physical and psychological. Sexual dysfunctions in men are listed as: erectile dysfunction, ejaculation problems, low libido; and sexual dysfunctions in women are given as: vaginal dryness, difficulty achieving orgasm, dysperunia.

Under yogic interventions, it lists ten asanas: Ardha Matsyendrasana, Paschimottanasana, Siddasana, Baddakonasana, Garudasana, Setubhandasana, Halasana, Pavanamuktasana, Supta Vajrasana, Shavasana. One specific practice in Yoga, the Moola Bandha, bears particular promise in the treatment of sexual problems, especially for women..., it adds.

The scholars involved with this study included: Rakshith K. R., Shivakumar, Kaushal Sinha and Vijeth Kumar L. A.  They propose future research avenues focusing on Yoga as a treatment for sexual disorder.

Meanwhile, distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, called this review looking into usage of yoga in treating/reducing sexual dysfunctions “a step in the positive direction”. Zed urged all major world educational institutions and hospitals to explore various benefits yoga offered.

Yoga, referred as “a living fossil”, was a mental and physical discipline, for everybody to share and benefit from, whose traces went back to around 2,000 BCE to Indus Valley civilization, Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, noted.

Rajan Zed further said that yoga, although introduced and nourished by Hinduism, was a world heritage and liberation powerhouse to be utilized by all. According to Patanjali who codified it in Yoga Sutra, yoga was a methodical effort to attain perfection, through the control of the different elements of human nature, physical and psychical.

According to US National Institutes of Health, yoga may help one to feel more relaxed, be more flexible, improve posture, breathe deeply, and get rid of stress. According to a “2016 Yoga in America Study”, about 37 million Americans (which included many celebrities) now practice yoga; and yoga is strongly correlated with having a positive self image.  Yoga was the repository of something basic in the human soul and psyche, Zed added.

Walmart halts sale of Lord Ganesh doll within 24 hours of Hindu protest

Newspatrolling.com (Media partnered with confirmtkt.com/train-running-status) : “World’s largest retailer” Walmart abruptly stopped the sale of “Ganesh Plush Doll” from Walmart.com within less than 24 hours after Hindus protested, calling it “highly inappropriate”.

“Ganesh Plush Doll”, earlier selling for $18.94 at Walmart.com, now shows up as “This item is no longer available”, when a customer tries to purchase it online.
Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, who spearheaded the protest asking for withdrawal of this objectionable product, in a statement in Nevada today, thanked Walmart for understanding the concerns of Hindu community which thought that marketing Lord Ganesh as a plush doll was trivializing and insensitive.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, however, pointed out that they were still waiting for a formal apology from Walmart CEO Doug McMillon and Walmart Board Chairman Gregory B. Penner to the Hindu community.

Rajan Zed suggested that Walmart and other companies should send their senior executives for training in religious and cultural sensitivity so that they had an understanding of the feelings of customers and communities when introducing new products or launching advertising campaigns.

Zed had said that Lord Ganesh was highly revered in Hinduism and was meant to be worshipped in temples or home shrines and not to be thrown loosely around on the floor, bathrooms, cars, etc.; or hit by feet; or squeezed; or used as a pillow or play ball. Inappropriate usage of Hindu deities or concepts for commercial or other agenda was not okay as it hurt the devotees.

Hinduism was the oldest and third largest religion of the world with about 1.1 billion adherents and a rich philosophical thought and it should not be taken frivolously. Symbols of any faith, larger or smaller, should not be mishandled, Rajan Zed had noted.
Zed had pointed out that in Hinduism, Lord Ganesh had been worshipped as god of wisdom and remover of obstacles and was invoked before the beginning of any major undertaking; but now Walmart said in product description that “now he's also the god of cuddliness” because of their Ganesh Plush Doll (which Walmart listed as “Religious Novelty” and “Funny Gift”).

Moreover, it was saddening for the devotees to see Lord Ganesh reduced as a toy in the form of a plush doll under the mercy of the owner, while in reality the believers put the destinies of themselves in the hands of their deities; Rajan Zed had indicated.

Walmart, headquartered in Bentonville (Arkansas, USA), whose tagline is “Save money. Live better.”, claims to be a “worldwide household name” with about 11, 700 stores and whose fiscal year 2017 revenue was about $486 billion. Walmart.com claims to have over 1,000,000 products available online.

Hindus welcome “Meditation Room” at Milwaukee Airport

NewsPatrolling.com / Glamourtreat.com : Hindus have welcomed the reported launching of “Interfaith Meditation Room” at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, said that having a “meditation room” at the Milwaukee Airport was a step in the positive direction. It would help infuse spirituality into the atmosphere of this important airport and would provide a place for reflection and prayer for passengers, employees, visitors, and others using the airport.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, pointed out that prayer/worship to God was highly important in Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world with about 1.1 billion adherents. He hoped that this new facility would prove helpful to the Hindus travelling through Milwaukee Airport to meet their daily worship rituals/rites; which might include recitation of texts, repetition of mantras and dhayan (meditation).
Rajan Zed indicated that Milwaukee Airport should also seriously consider providing “yoga room” for the passengers if it wanted to help reduce their stress levels and be a “world-class” airport. Many international airports already have yoga spaces.

Zed urged all major airports across the world to make a provision for sacred space in the shape of “meditation/prayer room” and a “yoga room”. Many airports reportedly already do have multi-faith meditation/prayer-rooms.

Purpose of this meditation room is stated as: “to provide designated space at Micthell International Airport for private meditation, prayer and public worship services for travelers and employees or interested persons of all faiths”. Ruth Agrusa is the Board Chair and Karen Pierce is the Board Member of this meditation room, which is reportedly open 24 hours daily.

Milwaukee Airport, owned by Milwaukee County, and whose history goes back to 1919, offers nonstop flights to 50 destinations coast-to-coast, and 160 international destinations are available from Milwaukee with just one connection.

Hindus welcome New York's Port Washington School District looking into Diwali holiday

Newspatrolling.com (media partnered with confirmtkt.com/pnr-status) ;Hindus have welcomed Port Washington Union Free School District (PWUFSD) in New York State for reportedly looking into adding Diwali, the most popular Hindu festival, as a holiday.
In a recent meeting of PWUFSD Board of Education, Diwali holiday was reportedly discussed and it was stated that efforts were being made in this direction and the Board was looking into it and hoping to be able to do it.
Welcoming PWUFSD stance on working towards Diwali holiday; distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, said that Diwali holiday in PWUFSD would be a step in the positive direction in view of presence of a substantial number of Hindu students in the District; as it was important to meet the religious and spiritual needs of these pupils.
Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, stressed that PWUFSD should seriously and speedily work towards declaring Diwali as an official holiday, thus recognizing the intersection of spirituality and education. Zed noted that awareness about other religions thus created by such holidays like Diwali would make Port Washington students well-nurtured, well-balanced, and enlightened citizens of tomorrow.
Diwali fell on October 19 in 2017 and neighboring six New York school districts declared holiday for students on October 19, which included: East Meadow School District, East Williston Union Free School District, Half Hollow Hills Central School District, Herricks Union Free School District, Hicksville Union Free School District and Syosset Central School District. Mineola Union Free School District announced that no home work or examinations would be given on Diwali, reports suggest.
For 2017 in neighboring New Jersey; Glen Rock Public Schools announced closure of schools and offices on Diwali; in West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District, schools were closed on October 19; and in Piscataway Township Schools, there was “No School for Students” on Diwali. And recently Millburn Township Public Schools announced Diwali day off for students for the next three years, reports add.
In 2017 Unionville-Chadds Ford School District headquartered in Kennett Square in Pennsylvania approved closure of schools on Diwali; while Harvard Public Schools in Massachusetts declared October 19 as “early release day”, reports note.
Rajan Zed further said that since it was important for Hindu families to celebrate Diwali day together at home with their children, we did not want our children to be deprived of any privileges at the school because of thus resulting absences on this day. Closing schools on Diwali would ensure that.
Zed indicates that Hinduism is rich in festivals and religious festivals are very dear and sacred to Hindus. Diwali, the festival of lights, aims at dispelling the darkness and lighting up the lives and symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
Hinduism is oldest and third largest religion of the world with about 1.1 billion adherents. There are about three million Hindus in USA.
Educational philosophy of PWUFSD, with seven schools and about 5,300 students, includes: “dedicated to fostering in each student the ability and character to fashion a worthy and successful life in a changing world”. Port Washington's first school, the one-room Flower Hill School, is said to have been built in 1757. Karen Sloan is Board President and Dr. Kathleen A. Mooney is Superintendent of PWUFSD.

NewsPatrolling.com / niryas.com : Topeka Hindu Temple (THT) has reportedly purchased a building in Kansas capital Topeka, which was formerly a Masonic Temple.

According to reports, this building was previously owned by Topeka “Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry”. It will be converted to a Hindu place of worship. Area Hindus, who have been living here since 1960s, used to travel to Shawnee for worship needs, which is about 60 miles.

THT, besides being a place of worship and religious rituals; will also celebrate various festivals, organize cultural and educational activities, hold events, raise money for charities; and be a gathering place for the community. This first Hindu temple in the area will be open to all, reports suggest.

Meanwhile, distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, commended efforts of temple leaders and area community towards realizing this temple.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, further said that it was important to pass on Hindu spirituality, concepts and traditions to coming generations amidst so many distractions in the consumerist society and hoped that this temple would help in this direction. Zed stressed that instead of running after materialism; we should focus on inner search and realization of Self and work towards achieving moksh (liberation), which was the goal of Hinduism.

THT is a non-profit organization and is now seeking donations and volunteers.
Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about 1.1 billion adherents.
There are about three million Hindus in USA. Freemasonry is composed of fraternal organizations and Scottish Rite reportedly came into being in 1801.

Hindus worldwide shocked at Fiji temple desecration

Fiji newspatrolling

NewsPatrolling.com / Glamourtreat.com : Hindus worldwide are highly concerned after reports of desecration in Votualevu Tirath Dham Hindu Temple in Nadi area of Fiji.

According to reports, desecration was caused on December 16 night, violating this sacred Hindu place of worship. Damage included pouring paint over the images of deities Ganesha, Hanuman, etc; graffiti/slurs on walls; theft of donation box, sound system and other equipment; rubbish strewn in prayer area; etc.; and was said to be third such act at the temple.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that it was reportedly disturbing for the hard-working, harmonious and peaceful Fijian Hindu community; who had made lot of contributions to the nation and society; to receive such signals of hatred and anger.

Such incidents should not be acceptable in a country like Fiji which reportedly protects freedom of conscience, belief, and religion; and where communities of diverse faiths frequently come together to develop mutual understanding and respect; Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, noted.

Rajan Zed urged Fijian President Major General Jioji Konusi Konrote, Prime Minister Rear Admiral Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama and Commissioner of Western Division to visit this Hindu Temple to show solidarity with the Hindu-Fijians, meet the area Hindu community to reassure them and address a public rally in Votualevu condemning the desecration. He also urged them to take the issue seriously and urgently and make sure that such incidents did not happen in the future, in order regain the reportedly falling confidence of the Hindu community.

As an interfaith gesture, Zed also urged Reverend Dr. Tevita Nawadra Banivanua, President of Fiji Methodist Church; leaders of Roman Catholic, Assemblies of God, Seventh-day Adventist, Anglican and other Christians denominations; and leaders of Muslim, Sikh, Baha'i and other religious communities and non-believers; and ordinary Fijians to come forward condemning this desecration and expressing solidarity with the nation's Hindus; who had also made huge contributions to its success, prosperity and growth.
Rajan Zed suggested the Hindu-Fijians to continue with the traditional values of hard work, higher morals, stress on education, sanctity of marriage, etc., amidst so many distractions; which was the reason for their success.

Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about 1.1 billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal.

Hindus cautiously welcome BBC’s “change of heart” on religious programming

NewsPatrolling.com Media partnered with Niryas.com : Hindus have cautiously welcomed the ambitious and wide-ranging British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) plans to enhance coverage of religion with a pluralistic approach.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed; commenting on the detailed “BBC Religion & Ethics Review” released by its Director General Tony Hall on December 20; in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, welcomed BBC’s idea of “improving religious literacy inside and outside the BBC”, calling it a step in the positive direction.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, hoped that BBC would project and portray Hinduism in its future programming accurately instead of reimagining Hinduism concepts and traditions to fit its agendas. Moreover, BBC should show fairness to “other” religions which it desperately failed to do in the past despite tall claims.

Hinduism had been highly underserved at BBC in the past; Rajan Zed stressed and added that things might be better if Hall and BBC seriously and honestly implemented what was claimed in this new review.

Zed pointed out that multi-culturalism had been fast growing in United Kingdom (UK) and it was now a diverse society formed of various religions and denominations and non-believers, but BBC had not kept pace with it. Hindus deserved more airtime at BBC and live aarti broadcasts from major Hindu temples in UK should regularly feature in BBC schedules. It was time for the disproportionate religious output at BBC to end, giving way to evenly distributed time/space on TV-radio-online among various religions/denominations/non-believers.

BBC should also ensure adequate coverage of Diwali, Holi, Krishna Janmashtami, Maha Shivaratri, Ram Navami, Ganesha Chaturthi, Navaratri, Duserra, Hanuman Jayanti, Makar Sankranti, Yugadi and other Hindu festivals; Rajan Zed noted.

Hymns from ancient Sanskrit scriptures, contemporary bhajans and Hindu sermons should regularly form part of BBC One’s over 56 years old “Songs of Praise” program, one of the world's longest-running religious television series. Hindu hymns, songs and faith stories were also highly inspiring, warm and engaging; and moreover, God liked all songs-of-praise, irrespective of the religion these came from, Zed indicated.

Rajan Zed further said that BBC, being “a public service broadcaster funded by the licence fee paid by UK households”, including the Hindu households, should have been more responsible and inclusive in its religious programming. It should not ignore and sideline “other” faiths in its content and productions, and across its various channels and services.

Zed stated that BBC; whose  “values” included “celebrate our diversity” and “great things happen when we work together”; and whose  “purposes” included “reflect, represent and serve the diverse communities”; should show some maturity/responsibility/accountability in handling religion appropriately. BBC should take religion more seriously, and help us build interconnections and create harmony.

We pray that BBC gets the religion right, Rajan Zed adds.

BBC labeled “yoga” as “fad” in 2013. BBC also labeled Hindu festival of Holi as “filthy festival” in 2012 to which it apologized later. BBC has been blamed in the past for racism, imperialist stance, Indophobic bias, anti-Hindu bigotry, anti-American bias, etc.

Launched in October 1922, headquartered in London, and established by a Royal Charter; BBC claims to be the “world's leading public service broadcaster”. Every UK viewer needs to have a TV License, which costs £147.

Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion in the world, has about 1.1 billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal.
