“Hard Rock” sells “Hindu Pizza”, upsetting Hindus

NewsPatrolling.com (Media partnered with Niryas.com webeesocial.com  ayushmaanbhavah.com newzopedia.com) : Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) has a “Hindu” pizza on its menu containing “chicken tikka masala with yogurt, cilantro and mint”, which has upset the Hindus.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, termed it as a trivialization of the oldest and third largest religion of the world with about 1.1 billion adherents and a rich philosophical thought.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged Orlando (Florida) headquartered Hard Rock International ((HRI), whose tagline is “Love All, Serve All”; to immediately rename the “Hindu” pizza, and its Chairman Jim Allen to offer a formal apology.

Rajan Zed pointed out that Hindus were mostly vegetarian and selling a meat topped pizza in their name was highly inappropriate. No faith, larger or smaller, should be taken frivolously and mishandled for mercantile greed, Zed added.

Zed suggested that HRI and other companies should send their senior executives for training in religious and cultural sensitivity so that they had an understanding of the feelings of customers and communities when introducing new products or launching advertising campaigns.

“Hindu” pizza was available at the Pizzeto restaurant (in HRI’s largest property located in Punta Cana) which opens daily from 12pm to next day 7am and has a “Dress Code”.

HRI, whose history goes back to 1971, owns-operates restaurants, hotels, live performance venues and casinos globally and sells collectible fashion and music-related merchandise. It claims: “no one does hospitality like us” and it recently launched “Rock Om”; “an in-room yoga experience, energizing the body and soul through the power of music.” It delivers “Rock Om yoga kit” to each hotel room free of charge. Select HRI hotels also reportedly offer live, on-site yoga classes.

One in ten Indian female affected by TB related ailment

http://www.newspatrolling.comWith over 20 lakh cases of Tuberculosis worldwide, India is the second leading country to contribute to the related mortality rate. Usually the TB bacteria affects the lungs and if left unnoticed can also spread throughout the body and cause secondary infection affecting the kidneys, abdomen, brain, uterus and even the fallopian tubes. Genital TB can be a great cause of concern for both the partners if they are trying to conceive.
“Though the symptoms may not be so evident enough but the effects can be seen if timely diagnosis is not done. The infections can spread to the uterus and cause thinning of the endometrium thereby creating a barrier in development of the fetus. TB in females is a chronic disease with low grade symptoms. Tubal factor infertility along with the involvement of the endometrium is the major cause of infertility. Women are more often affected than males that cause irregular menses, vaginal discharge with blood stains or excessive pain during intercourse and sudden pelvic pain. The condition can even mimic other gynecological conditions like ovarian cysts, PID, ectopic pregnancy or even genital cancer.” Says Dr Arifa Adil, IVF expert, Indira IVF Hospital, New Delhi
As per the latest study done by the ICMR, over 50% of female patients coming for IVF procedure have been reported to have genital TB. In over 95% of the cases, the infection was found to affect the fallopian tube, 50% endometrium and 30 % ovaries. Though it can occur in any age group (15-45 years) the average age was found to be 31 years. In most of the cases the disease was asymptotic or present with very few symptoms. Incidents reported in the Delhi NCR region shows that one in every five women with TB were unable to conceive naturally which accounted for 40%.
“Even though it’s difficult to diagnose the presence of TB in genital tract, there are certain ways to detect them like a sample of tissue taken from a women suffering from TB of fallopian tubes, endometrial tissue is collected from uterus and sent to lab, where the bacteria are grown and later used for testing. The most trustworthy method of diagnosis is making a histological diagnosis of tubercles, which helps doctors on laparoscopy to confirm whether these suspicious lesions are due to tuberculosis or not. Hysterosalpingography (HSG) is also a very useful tool in visualizing the abnormalities in the uterus and the endometrium. And chronic infections can even lead to narrowing of the uterine cavity.” Says Dr Arvind Vaid, city based gynecologist.
The effects can also be seen in post menopausal women where the condition may be prominent with symptoms of endometrial malignancy, post menopausal bleeding and persistent vaginal fluid discharge. This is also similar in case of affected males where reduction in sperm quality, concentration and motility are few traits.
Treating TB with medications can help women to conceive through ART, either IVF of or IUI, where intervention can be done to repair the after effects. One can prevent themselves against TB by staying away from crowded areas, where you could come into regular contact with people who are infected, have access to a proper healthcare system and undergo physical exams on a regular basis, get vaccinated against the condition, if possible.

It acts as a voice for the emerging trends for indie & event cinema and assures a healthy supply of non-studio content, adding to the recorded broadcasts. Offering a world away from traditional cinema model, it will program and host a series of high-profile cinema events setting high standards of alternate content for the patrons.

In 2014 PVR LIVE (Entertainment Beyond Movies) successfully pioneered the step to bring global alternate content to India, to keep the movie-lovers hooked with an interesting onscreen showcase of Museum Exhibitions, Concert Films, Musicals, Ballets, Theatre/ Broadway plays and such. The first season of ‘PVR LIVE’ was quite dynamic & thrilling. The screenings of Queen, Cinderella & Swan Lake though attracted a niche audience, created considerable word-of-mouth regarding such international content being made available to our discerning viewers. The Stand-up acts AIB & Pretentious Nights were sold out in a couple of days & the reason for the same was evident in the audience hysteria at these shows. Furthermore ‘One Direction – Where We Are – The Concert Film,’ was a blockbuster with approximately 8000 admits at PVR cinemas (2 shows across multiple locations).

PVR Live 2.0 kicks-off on 24th & 25th March ’18 with screenings of PANCHAM UNMIXED - a tribute documentary directed by Brahmanand S Siingh honoring the renowned composer R.D. Burman

PVR Live 2.0 recognizes how audiences have a broad spectrum of tastes along with considerable individual variations. The importance of generating unique events with added value for the audience in terms of regular cinema screenings forms the basis of this pioneering initiative by PVR. PVR Live 2.0 offers emotionally or intellectually engaging content providing a unique shared experience of something that they would not otherwise have access to, such as the one-night special screenings, or world-renowned productions and exhibitions.

Commenting on these developments, Dharmesh Datta, Business Head - Alternate Content, PVR Limited said “Though mainstream studio content is still the rage; alternate indie content is fast emerging as a compelling option. PVR LIVE caters to this growing demand by making non studio-driven content available for consumption to the discerning patrons. PVR Live will endeavor to showcase unique content-pipeline, which has something for everyone. We feature a variety of alternate events in order to give our guests options.”

Milk Production Trends in India

Niryas.com (Full cream organic milk manufacturer) :Can you guesswhich one is the largest food crop in India? Well, it's milk! This may sound surprising, but milk production in India is worth a staggering Rs 6.5 lakh crore. This is much more than the combined value of paddy and wheat production in the country. India leads in milk production globally as well, contributing around 20 percent of the world's total milk production. As a matter of fact, India is the largest milk producer in the world.

India produces more than 165 million metric tons of milk every year and the production is growing at a rate of around 4.5 percent. The per capita consumption of milk in India also shows a healthy trend, having grown from 110 grams per person per day in the 70s to the current 360 grams per person per day. In the next 5 decades, per capita consumption of milk in India will become equal to that of US and Europe at around 800 grams per person per day. All these facts clearly point out to the growing popularity of milk and the various health benefits it offers.

The organized sector, comprising cooperative organizations and private companies, is processing around 20 percent of the overall milk production in the country. This sector is growing around 10-15 percent overall, with new products such as cream and cheese registering higher growth rate of 20-30 percent. Traditional items such as ghee and butter are growing in the range of 8-10 percent. The growth in organized sector is due to the growing preference for branded products that come with the promise of quality, freshness, purity and affordability. Rise in overall consumption of milk and milk products, is also aiding growth of organized sector.

Liquid milk is the most consumed dairy product in India, followed by other items such as dahi and ghee. Beyond this, there is cheese, butter, buttermilk, and ice-cream. Prices of milk and milk products remained stable throughout 2017, but prices may rise in 2018. Farmers in many states of the country are experiencing a tough situation, as they are not even getting the cost of milk produced. Milk prices had peaked globally in 2014-2015, but after that, the prices have been falling. This is making milk production a burden for many farmers.

However, as milk companies and cooperatives realize the long term implications, it is expected that milk prices will rise in the coming years. This would be a welcome development for farmers, even though consumers may have to shell out a bit more for their daily glass of milk.

Top Priorities for Digital Marketers in 2018

Webeesocial.com (social media service provide in Delhi) : With the New Year taking shape, it’s time for marketers to revisit their digital marketing strategies and evaluate its overall effectiveness. This would be the most appropriate time to make changes or devise new strategies to be able to achieve the digital marketing goals for 2018. A lot has changed during the last 12 months and it’s prudent that marketers focus on evolving strategies that are in line with emerging trends in the digital world. Let's take a look at the top priorities for digital marketers in 2018.

Voice search: An increasing number of web and app users have started using voice commands to search and find things that they need. This trend is evident in the increasing sales of connected speakers such as Google Home and Amazon Echo. Reports indicate that by the end of 2018, these products will be available in around 14 percent households in the United States. These voice supported devices are making inroads globally as well. Businesses will have to analyze this voice-driven landscape and devise relevant digital marketing strategies that can help achieve desired results. Focusing on voice-driven e-commerce will be a top priority for marketers in 2018.

Video: This digital marketing tool will continue to hold sway in 2018. Consumption of video content has been increasing every year and the trend will continue in 2018. Millennials would be the most relevant to target via video content since this group is the biggest consumer of video content. Recent social media features such as Instagram Stories and Facebook Live have made video content even more alluring for the young generation. Creating top quality and engaging video content will be a priority for marketers in 2018.

Augmented Reality: This is being increasingly used to create immersive experiences for users. From games to apps, product presentations and 3D virtual tours, augmented reality has transformed the way people and brands interact in the digital space. A lot more can be expected, as creating augmented reality apps has become a lot easier now with the launch of Apple’s ARKit and Google’s ARcore. Brands can experiment with AR in 2018 with the goal to improve customer experiences.

Marketers also need to focus on personalization ofdigital marketing initiatives, as it has shown to increase sales by up to 20 percent. There's huge scope for this since currently only around 6 percent of marketers have a dedicated personalization strategy. Top companies such as Google, Netflix, and Spotify have benefittedimmensely from personalization strategies and now it’s time for other businesses to follow suit. Users prefer personalized experiences, as it makes it easier for them to find things they are looking for.

He plans to start and end prayer with “Om”, the mystical syllable containing the universe, which in Hinduism is used to introduce and conclude religious work.

Reciting from Brahadaranyakopanishad, Rajan Zed plans to say “Asato ma sad gamaya, Tamaso ma jyotir gamaya, Mrtyor mamrtam gamaya”; which he will then interpret as “Lead us from the unreal to the real, Lead us from darkness to light, and Lead us from death to immortality.” Reciting from Bhagavad-Gita, he proposes to urge councimembers and others present to keep the welfare of others always in mind.

Zed, a global Hindu and interfaith leader, has been bestowed with World Interfaith Leader Award. Zed is Senior Fellow and Religious Advisor to Foundation for Religious Diplomacy, Spiritual Advisor to National Association of Interchurch & Interfaith Families, on the Advisory Board of The Interfaith Peace Project, etc. He has been panelist for “On Faith”, a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced by The Washington Post; and leads a weekly interfaith panel “Faith Forum” in a Gannett publication for over seven years.

Sub-10000 finally a reality now: Angel Broking

NewsPatrolling.comA mounting concern on ‘Trade War’ between the US and the China started looming over rest of the world. This has clearly spooked traders’ community across the globe, resulting into massive sell off in the equity bourses. We are no exception to this and hence, our benchmarks had a huge gap down opening well below the important psychological mark of 10000. Some respite at lower levels trimmed some portion of losses to conclude the week tad below this important junction.

As far as direction is concerned, it’s no brainer; we remain in a ‘Sell on rise’ kind of market. But, since we are heading into the truncated expiry week, the ‘Expiry Factor’ will come into picture. For the coming session, 10060 – 10110 would be seen as strong hurdle. In case of a bounce back, any attempt towards this resistance zone is likely to get sold into. On the lower side, at least for this expiry, 9950 – 9900 would be seen as a crucial support area. But, if we have to take slightly broader view then we would expect lower levels of 9800 – 9700, which have been our target levels ever since we got trend reversal in the ‘Budget Week’.

For the coming week, traders are advised to keep a note of these key levels and should rather remain light on positions. During the week, we may see good trading opportunities in individual stocks and hence, one should keep focusing on such propositions.”

UVA Darden, The Boston Consulting Group Partner on Digital Transformation Course

NewsPatrolling.com :  The University Of Virginia Darden School Of Business has partnered with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to create a four-week online course on digital transformation. The Digital Transformation Course is slated to begin on March 26, and this launch follows last year’s successful collaboration on the Pricing Strategy Optimization Specialization.
Instructional material drawn from both BCG partners and Darden’s top-ranked faculty makes up the new four-module course. The first two modules set the foundation for digital transformation, discussing the pace of change and the imperative it creates for businesses. Then, participants learn the context for this transformation and what is necessary to win in the digital age. The course concludes with BCG’s proprietary framework, providing a practical model for transforming a business.

“Digital transformation is no longer optional. It is an imperative for all industries today,” said Amane Dannouni, lead course instructor and principal in BCG’s Singapore office. “For the organizations to succeed, every member must understand why digital is important and what it means for their daily work. This course is designed to help our clients address those challenges.”
The course will be available globally on the Coursera platform. Certificates earned upon completion of the course can be shared on LinkedIn and other social media.  Additionally, BCG plans to use the course material for both internal training and client engagement, while Darden will use the material in degree programs and Executive Education courses.

“We’re pleased with the opportunity to partner with BCG on this critical topic,” said Darden Professor and Chief Strategy Officer Mike Lenox, who will co-lead the course. “A comprehensive and forward-thinking digital strategy is a necessity for any organization that hopes to thrive in the 21st century. This course will give users the mindset and tools necessary to fully grapple with the issue.”
The four modules that make up the digital transformation certification are:
•          How Technology Changes Business
•          The Mechanics of Disruption
•          Digital Trends Past and Future
•          Your Path to Digital Transformation
Leaders from BCG’s Technology Advantage (TA) practice area led BCG’s contributions to the course. The TA practice helps clients transform their digital journey and reimagine the entire experience by addressing major pain points, deploying digital technologies, and streamlining underlying processes through techniques such as Lean, automation and robotics.

“Although the course topic is digital transformation, the focus remains on value creation. This means insightful ideas are just the beginning. As we’ve seen with clients, harnessing digital technology creates more value,” said Ching-Fong Ong, senior partner in TA and BCG’s Digital Transformation Accelerator topic leader in the Asia-Pacific region. “Just as we enable our clients to continue the journey, we help learners translate digital knowledge into practical, actionable programs.”
Darden is a leader in innovative online learning, and its offerings are a key component of the world’s best business education experience both in degree programs and custom programs for leading organizations. Through its partnership with Coursera, Darden has developed over 30 popular massive open online courses (MOOCs), reaching more than 1.1 million people via courses in areas such as agile product development, design thinking, business strategy and project management.

Utah’s Weber County Board of Commissioners to open with Hindu prayer for 1st time in 168 years

NewsPatrolling.com (Media partnered with Newzopedia.com, Ayushmaanbhavah.com , Webeesocial.com niryas.com) : Weber County Board of Commissioners will start its day in Ogden (Utah, USA) with Hindu mantras on June five, reportedly for the first time since its founding in 1850, containing verses from world’s oldest existing scripture.
Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed will deliver the invocation from ancient Sanskrit scriptures before the Board. After Sanskrit delivery, he then will read the English interpretation of the prayers. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language in Hinduism and root language of Indo-European languages.
Zed, who is the President of Universal Society of Hinduism, will recite from Rig-Veda, the oldest scripture of the world still in common use; besides lines from Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita (Song of the Lord), both ancient Hindu scriptures. Zed will also meet Board Chair James H. “Jim” Harvey before the invocation.

10033 defended for a time being, ‘Pharma’ shows some promising signs

“Weak cues from the US bourses continue to put burden on our markets at least during the opening formalities. The similar thing was witnessed at the opening today; however, we saw a v-shaped recovery right from the word go. In fact, due to emergence of buying at lower levels, the index went on to trade well within the positive territory during the course of action. Eventually, Nifty managed to reclaim the 10100 mark on a closing basis.

Looking at the important swing low of 10033.35 and especially the kind of open interest pile-up seen in 10000 Puts, today’s recovery post the gap up opening was not so surprising. The question lies whether it’s sustainable or not? If we have to take a directional bet then we continue to expect sliding below this level and entering sub-10000 levels in the near term. Since, it would not be wise to project time targets, we would advise traders to remain with the ongoing trend and avoid trading aggressively on long side in case of any bounce back. For the coming session, 10155 – 10224 continue to act as a strong hurdle; whereas on the downside, 10090 – 10033 would be seen as a crucial support zone for the current series.

It’s advisable to remain light and should ideally focus on individual stocks if Nifty remains within a range of 10224 – 10033 for next couple of days. Yesterday, although most of the beaten down stocks showed some life, the ‘Pharma’ basket caught our eyes and have shown some promising signs. During the day, ‘Nifty Pharma’ managed to recover from its multi-year lows, which coincides with multiple key technical indicators. Hence, we expect some decent moves in this space going forward. From this basket, ‘Sunpharma’ remains to be our preferred bet, which we believe is poised for a decent up move in the near term.”
