Make Your Boring Snacks into a lip-smacking One with Milk

Milk is one of the largely used food products across the worldwide for its endless number of health benefits and taste. Generally, whenever we think about milk, the first thing which comes to our mind is its sweet taste but do you know you can make different yummy snacks with milk which are not sweet? Yes, it is one of the enriched versatile natural food products through which you can make salty snacks and light evening snacks.

Here are some of the quick milk based snacks:

Crispy Nacho Fries: It will take only 10 minutes. For this you will need 800g of fried sliced potatoes, spray oil, salt and black pepper, 80g of condensed fat cheddar, 1 tsp of cornstarch, 1/2 cup of skimmed milk (Niryas.com milk is best for it), pinch of onion powder and garlic powder, 1/4 tsp of chilli powder, chopped onion, chopped tomatoes, 1 chopped jalapeno, 2 sliced spring onions, 6 tbs of fat free yoghurt, juice of a fresh lemon and salt. First preheat oven to 220c/430f. Now add the fries to a bowl and flavour it with salt and black pepper, spray with spray oil and flip to coat. Now drench a large baking sheet with spray oil and add the fries to the dish. Let it bake for approx 40mins. Now blend the yoghurt in a mixing bowl with a little lemon juice and a pinch of salt, set apart. Now mix the cornstarch with the water in a small bowl. Now add this in saucepan over a medium heat with the milk, while it starts to bubble and clot. Add cheese, garlic powder, onion powder and chilli powder and whip until it becomes a soft cheesy sauce. Once the fries are prepared, split between two dishes and drizzle with the nacho sauciness.

Twisted French Toast: For this you will need 6 sliced bread pieces, cut into small size, 4 eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp ground nutmeg, 1/2 cup brown sugar, butter and 1/2 cup maple syrup. First, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for coating. Now melt the butter and coat in a pan in average heat. Now whip the eggs, milk, ground cinnamon and nutmeg together in a bowl. Now dip the bread pieces into the egg mixture and coat. Cook the pieces in skillet for around 2-3 minutes until brown. Toss the warm pieces into brown sugar. Whisk syrup and butter together until it get fully melted and smooth, in a saucepan over medium heat. After that dish up warm with bites.

Spice Pound Pumpkin Cake: For the Pound Cake you will need 1½ cups unsalted butter, 2 ½ cups sugar, 5 large eggs, 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup milk and 1 Tbsp vanilla extract. For the Spice Coating of Pumpkin you will need ½ cup sugar, 1 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice and 4 Tbsp unsalted butter. First grease the standard pan. Now preheat the oven to 350°F. Now mix the butter and sugar together until it becomes light and fluffy, with the mixer. Add the eggs one at a time, blending after each adding up. Now add the flour, salt, milk and vanilla; blend on little speed for 3-4 minutes. Now move the butter into a prepared pan and bake at 350°F for 75-80 minutes. Now let the cake cool in pan for 10 minutes. For the Pumpkin Spice Coating, first slice the cooled pound cake into 1 cube. Now add the sugar and pumpkin pie spice in a bowl until mix well. Now add 2 Tbsp of butter and place over medium heat using a large skillet. Once it gets melted, add half of pound cake cubes. Then cook until the cubes get browned on all sides. Then take away the toasted cubes from skillet and toss it in sugar-pumpkin spice mixture.


You can change the amounts of the ingredients based on your requirements.
